Good analysis, I think you’re correct. My money would be on Iran. They seem to be capable of playing the long game. The dream of a United Arab Republic will have to wait for another century.
In the meantime I wait for editorials in the Israeli press calling to end the slaughter in Gaza—not for moral reasons, but out of concerns for self-preservation. Will they see the writing on the wall before it’s too late or are they fated to another long period of exile and diaspora?
This forgets Nuclear weapons, that Israel isn’t really dependent on America except for Diplomatic purposes, that Israel has its own economy, that Israel is a settler nation and needs only not to be given the South African/Rhodesian Diplomatic treatment. They were also settler nations that offended Western Wives…. Whose husbands are in the mineral business, and black Africans work cheaper than White Africans.
South Africa and Rhodesia were settler nations. As indeed is America, as indeed is Russia outside Muscovy, as indeed was Islam and the Arabs outside of the Arabian Peninsula.
Israel wasn’t seriously wounded by 10/7, nor Hizb and Iran’s impotent rocket attacks. Arabs with mere knives do more damage than Iran’s vaunted WunderWaffen. The Houthis have attacked 83 ships.

Nations like people should stick to what they know. Russia is good at the Eurasian land mass.
